Collaboration with the University of Latvia in the student learning process

In order to enhance students' readiness for the job market and to acquire useful practical skills, RIX Technologies and the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Latvia have signed an agreement which enables Information Management students to gain practical experience with Namejs, the most widely used document management system in Latvia.
“The Namejs document management system is one of the most popular and widely used IT solutions created in Latvia, used daily by over 53,000 users in ministries, municipalities, healthcare and educational institutions, as well as businesses. The opportunity for students to learn this tool during their studies will allow them to enter the job market as skilled and in-demand information management professionals,” says Inguna Pede, Board Member of RIX Technologies.
“With the increasing volume of information and knowledge created worldwide, the role of information management specialists will be crucial in ensuring a reliable and secure flow of information. We highly value this cooperation with Latvian companies during the student learning process, as it provides an understanding of how theoretical knowledge gained during studies will be applied in practical work,” says Gatis Karlsons, guest lecturer at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Latvia, and Deputy Director of the National Archives of Latvia.
DMS Namejs is a document management solution which ensures a unified, transparent, and controlled document flow across the entire organization. Students of the Information Management program at the University of Latvia’s Faculty of Social Sciences, by familiarizing themselves with Namejs, practically will gain knowledge about the fundamentals of document creation, criteria for configuring a qualified system, and the processes of document archiving and destruction.
